Daniel Morgan is a small-business owner, dad, and long-time Costa Mesa resident who believes local government works best when it listens before it lectures. He’s running for city council to bring commonsense leadership to the council, remove needless barriers that hold back new local businesses, and strengthen the quality of life in Costa Mesa’s neighborhoods.

As the Managing Principal of Marterra Real Estate and Marterra Properties, Daniel spends his days helping families, homeowners, and local investors navigate one of the most competitive housing markets in the country. His experience gives him a front-row seat to what Costa Mesa does well and where the city has clear room for improvement.

Daniel currently serves on Costa Mesa’s Finance and Pension Advisory Committee, where he focuses on responsible budgeting, long-term planning, and keeping the city financially stable without nickel-and-diming residents. His approach is simple: if the city stays focused on the basics, everything else becomes a whole lot easier.

Outside of work and city involvement, Daniel is a husband and dad of two daughters who attend local schools. He serves on the board for Let's Be Kind and FiPac and actively supports College Park Elementary, Kaiser and Woodland Elementary. He was also formerly a county planning commissioner and a big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
